PACSCL Appoints New Board Director

Philadelphia, PA – March 16, 2022

At its February 2022 Board meeting, the Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries, Inc. (PACSCL) exercised the option to appoint a Class D Director.  Class D directors are appointed from the local, regional, or national community whose expertise is relevant to PACSCL’s strategic goals and who wish to support PACSCL in furtherance of those goals.

PACSCL’s thirty-five member institutions collaborate to make their collections broadly available. PACSCL supports joint projects, promotes professional standards, and fosters the special collections community.  PACSCL members are recognized globally for the depth and broad accessibility of their unique materials. These institutions make the Greater Philadelphia area a preeminent center for engagement with special collections, providing access to over 4,000,000 rare books, 260,000 linear feet of manuscripts and archival materials, and 9,000,000 photographs, maps, architectural drawings, and works of art on paper.

The PACSCL Board appointed Jennifer Diveterano Gayle, J.D., a partner at the firm of Mannion Prior in King of Prussia, PA, as the second Class D Director, following the appointment last year of Linda Manfredonia, President and CEO of The Glenmede Trust Company of Delaware.

Ms. Gayle’s practice focuses on litigation involving trusts, estates, guardianships, and powers of attorney, including all forms of estate and trust disputes, will contests, surcharge and removal actions, interpretation issues, and other fiduciary matters before the Orphans’ Court Division of the Court of Common Pleas and the Register of Wills.  Ms. Gayle also serves as a Child Advocate for the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project, volunteering her time to advocate for child victims of abuse, neglect, and trafficking in the courts and social services agencies.

“I am honored and humbled to join the Board of this incredible institution. PACSCL’s dedication to sharing the past with future generations is of the utmost importance and I am thrilled to be part of it,” said Ms. Gayle upon her appointment.

The appointment was overseen by John Anderies of the William Way LGBT Community Center, Chair of the Nominations & Governance Committee, who noted that PACSCL will benefit immensely from the input and guidance Ms. Gayle can offer.

“The appointment of Jenn Gayle occurs at a strategic point in PACSCL’s development.  Jenn brings to PACSCL a depth of experience that will contribute positively to PACSCL’s growth over the coming years,” stated Will Noel, John T. Maltsberger III ’55 Associate University Librarian for Special Collections at Princeton University Library and Chair of PACSCL.
