Harmful Language Working Group

Supported by the DEI Committee, the Harmful Language Working Group builds on the Harmful Language Audit and Maturity Model Survey conducted in the fall of 2023. The group will review and stay current on reparative description topics and disseminate information to PACSCL members; plan events and workshops for PACSCL members that will aid members as they employ reparative description practices; develop scalable guidelines for using the Harmful Language Audit within specific collections with diverse needs; and encourage submissions of finding aids to the Philadelphia Archives Portal as a way to document harmful language remediation.
